(Last Year) October 1st and 2nd 2016, teams from all over western Canada and the United States, gathered in Nipawin, Saskatchewan for the 23rd Annual Vanity Cup Walleye fishing tournament. 160 teams competed for cash and merchandise totalling more than $300,000. Over 2584 pounds of walleye were weighed in throughout the two day tournament.

Prizes were awarded for the top 10 teams each day.

First prize for Day 1 was $5,000.00, a Minn Kota Trolling Motor and Humminbird Fish Finder which went to Tom Johnston and Larry Johnston of Regina, SK with a total weight of 27.7 pounds of walleye caught.

Big Fish on Day 1 was brought in by the Regina, SK team of Paul Brunette and Wayne Tumak tipping the scales at 12.19 pounds.

Winners of $5,000.00, a Minn Kota trolling motor and Humminbird Fish Finder for 23.47 Total pounds of walleye caught on Day 2 were Ryan Wiebe of Saskatoon and Cliff Warlow of Martensville, SK.  10 fish totalling 36.7 pounds of walleye were good enough for Ryan Wiebe of Saskatoon and Cliff Warlow of Martensville, SK to make their way through the crowd to receive the overall 2-day total of $100,000 in cash as the 2016 Vanity Cup's Top Walleye Team. They also caught the biggest walleye on Day 2 tipping the scales at 11.55 pounds.

The second overall place team of Perry Pugh of Sherwood Park, AB and Terry Magel of Buena Vista, SK received a Lund 1875 Sport boat package for the 35.66 lbs. of walleye they brought in over the two days.

Tom Johnston and Larry Johnston of Regina, SK reeled in 33.45 lbs. of walleye to win the tournament's third place overall prize, a Lund 1750 Rebel XS boat package.

2-day overall prizes were paid out to the top 15 teams. Top Mixed Team went to 10th overall place Glen and Gerri Pickard of Prince Albert, SK with a 2 day total 29.18 pounds of walleye. They collect $2,000.00 for being the top mixed team plus $3,000.00 for their overall tournament placement.
